Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) held the 2026 Middle East Online Peace Summit on October 30, bringing together peace leaders, experts, representatives of organizations, and stakeholders from across the region to exchange experiences and explore joint initiatives for sustainable peace.

Held under the theme “Strengthening Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Peace Through Experience Sharing and Collective Action,” the summit aimed to highlight peacebuilding achievements over the past year and identify opportunities for cooperation that respond to the specific needs and challenges of local communities.

The first session featured presentations on the achievements of HWPL Global Branch 02, peacebuilding activities across the Middle East, and best practices from other branches. Participants also explored how international experiences could be adapted to strengthen regional cooperation.

The summit highlighted the 2026 International Youth Peace Conference, held in the Republic of Korea from September 17 to 19, through a video presentation showcasing key activities and participants’ reflections.

Participants also discussed social issues and peacebuilding priorities in their respective countries through a survey and interactive discussions, identifying potential joint initiatives based on local needs and shared experiences.

Mr. Alond Talat Jawhar Kalori, Program Manager at the Public Aid Organization in Iraq, emphasized that peace is built by ordinary people who choose to volunteer, connect, and work together. Drawing on his experience with young volunteers he met in Korea, he encouraged participants to join the six implementation teams of the committee and translate their experiences into practical peacebuilding activities within their communities.

The summit also presented the six implementation teams established under the Middle East Peace Implementation Committee. Their responsibilities include external engagement and networking, direct communication with municipal council members and senior officials, joint planning of in-person events, membership development and alliance-building, partnerships with governments and public institutions, and supporting independent initiatives through flexible assistance.

Ms. Barwin Mohammed Amin, Founder of the Aswada Organization for Combating Violence Against Women in Iraq, highlighted the importance of cooperation with HWPL in ways that address the specific needs of each country and community. She also emphasized the role of the committee and its six implementation teams in strengthening collective action and promoting peaceful coexistence, beginning with individuals and families and extending to society as a whole.

The second session brought together stakeholders involved in establishing the HWPL branch in Iraq. Discussions focused on local peacebuilding priorities, potential initiatives, and future cooperation opportunities, with the aim of laying the foundations for sustainable activities in Iraq.

The summit concluded by emphasizing the importance of transforming shared experiences into practical action, expanding regional and local partnerships, and strengthening a culture of peace, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence across communities.
